Black [Majespecter] V. EndUser [Battlin' Boxer]
Round 1 Feature Match
Welcome to the tournaments first Feature Match between Black (DN: Marsuvees Black) and EndUser (DN: vidacconly).
I was covering today’s feature match, and it started with a bang!
Today, Black played a new Deck from
the recently released Dimension of Chaos set known as Majespecters while his
opponent played the anime-favorite Deck Battlin’ Boxers.
For those of you who do not know, Majespecter is an
archetype of Pendulum WIND Spellcaster-type monsters with very low ATK.
However, they make up for this weakness with the extremely powerful effect of
not being able to be targeted or destroyed by your opponent’s cards effects. In
a format where Raigekis and targeting effects are thrown around like candy,
this gives the monsters of the archtype a hardiness that was not seen since the
Hazy Flame archtype. The Level 3 and 4 monsters of the Archtype also possess
searching abilities upon being Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, being able
to search the named Spells Traps and Monsters of the archtype.
But! How will EndUser and his Battlin’ Boxer Deck fare
against this new archetype of monsters?
Black wins the Rocks-Paper-Scissors in the beginning and
chooses to go first!
In the first move of the game, he sets up his Pendulum Scales with Majespecter Fox (2) and Dracoslayer Luster Pendulum (5)! But, do not think that is all he will do. He uses Dracoslayer Luster Pendulum’s Pendulum Effect, which allows him to destroy the other card in his Pendulum Zone and add another copy of that card from his Deck to his hand. As a result he destroys his Majespecter Fox, placing it face-up in his Pendulum Zone and adds another one from his Deck to his hand, and places it onto his Pendulum Zone straight away. He then Pendulum Summons not one, not two but three monsters; the Majespecter Fox in his Extra Deck and two more Dracoslayer Luster Pendulums from his hand! Using Majespecter Fox’s effect, he adds a Majespecter Tornado from his Deck to his hand. He then overlays his two Dragonslayer Luster Pendulums to Xyz Summon Majester Paladin, the Soaring Dracoslayer! He sets two and passes, using the effect of his newly-summoned Xyz Monster to add Majespecter Raccoon from his Deck to his hand.

He sets two and passes, using the effect of his newly-summoned Xyz Monster to add Majespecter Raccoon from his Deck to his hand.
End User draws and Normal Summons Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer in
Attack Position and sets four. With a meaty backrow in his possession, EndUser
passes his turn.
Black draws and immediately Normal Summons Majespecter
Raccoon from his hand, using its effect to add a Majespecter Cat from his Deck.
He then uses the effect of Dracoslayer Luster Pendulum to destroy the Majespecter Fox in
his Pendulum Zone so that he can add another copy from his Deck to his hand. He
then Pendulum Summons once again, bringing out Majespecter Fox in Attack Position and
Majespecter Cat in Defense Position. He uses the effect of his Majespecter Fox to add a Majespecter Tempest from his Deck. Then, he overlays Majespecter Cat and Majespecter Raccoon to Xyz Summon Totem
Bird! But EndUser has a counter for the Bird, flipping a Bottomless Trap Hole
he has set! Black had no choice but to use Totem Bird’s effect, detaching both
of its materials in order to negate the trap and save his monster. He enters
his Battle Phase and attacks Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer with his Majespecter Fox.
However, EndUser smirked once more as he banished Battlin’ Boxer Counterpunch
from his hand during damage calculation, bringing Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer’s ATK to 2200 and giving it more
than enough strength to win the battle! Majespecter Fox is destroyed and Black takes 700
points of battle damage (Black: 7300). With a heavy heart over the loss of his
monster, he sets two cards and ends his turn.
With EndUser’s hand emptied, he draws and proceeds to set
his monster in face-down Defense Position and moves his Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer into Defense
Position. With no other moves he could do, he passes his turn.
After drawing his card, Black Pendulum Summons the Majespecter Fox from his Extra Deck, and uses its effect to add a Majespecter Tempest from the Deck to the hand. Black musters up all of his bravery to unleash a full-scale assault on
EndUser’s monsters and attacks his Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer with Totem Bird, but EndUser
activates Mirror Force! Mirror Force rains destruction onto Black’s field,
sending Totem Bird and Majester Paladin, the Soaring Dracoslayer on a one-way
trip to the Graveyard. Due to the passive abilities of the Majespecters, both
of his Majespecter Foxes were unaffected by the destructive trap. One of the Foxes gnaws
its way through Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer, destroying it on the spot. The other Majespecter Fox attacks the
face-down monster, revealing it to be Ice Hand! Because of its DEF of 1600, Black takes 100 points of damage from the battle (Black: 7200). He then ends
his turn.
EndUser draws and proceeds to activate Mystical Space
Typhoon on the center card, sniping a Majespecter Tempest to the Graveyard.
He shifts his Ice Hand into Attack Position and declares an attack against one
of the two Majespecter Foxes, but Black then proceeds to activate the set Majespecter Tornado, tributing the Majespecter Fox targeted for the attack and targeting the Ice Hand
to banish. EndUser chains Compulsory Evacuation Device and targets the Ice
Hand, returning it to the hand and saving it from a fate worse than death. He then
sets the Ice Hand on the field again, biding his time for the next strike.

EndUser draws his card with a will that is wavering against
the odds stacked before him. His backrow and hand are all but depleted and he
has no monsters on the field. He then Normal Summons Battlin’ Boxer Shadow
Boxer in Attack Position and tries to brawl with one of the Majespecter Foxes raring to go,
but Black isn’t having any of that. Black proceeds to flip Majespecter Cyclone, tributing the Majespecter Fox that would have battled to destroy the Battlin’ Boxer Shadow Boxer
attacking. EndUser had no choice but to end his turn after the disappointing
result.
Black draws and Pendulum Summons Majespecter Crow and Majespecter Fox from the Extra
Deck. With Majespecter Crow’s effect, he adds another copy of Majespecter Cyclone to his
hand. At this point, EndUser sees no point in continuing and admits defeat.
Clearly, he was blown away by the awesome might of the Majespecters.
Black wins game one.
Black wins game one.
Duel 2:
EndUser makes the first move this round. He opens up by
Normal Summoning Battlin’ Boxer Headgear and uses its effect to mill one
Battlin’ Boxer Counterpunch from his Deck. He then Special Summons a Battlin’
Boxer Sparrer in Defense Position from his hand through its effect. Rather than
use his monsters for any other progress this turn, he ends it.
EndUser draws his next card and proceeds to Normal Summon
Ice Hand and shifts his Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer into Attack Position. He tries attacking Black’s Majespecter Fox with his Ice Hand, but Black responds with a Majespecter Cyclone,
tributing the Majespecter Fox and destroying the surprisingly durable Battlin’ Boxer Headgear, slashing
away half of EndUser’s defensive force. EndUser sets one card and ends.
Black draws and immediately goes for the Pendulum Summon,
bringing forth one Majespecter Cat in Defense Position and the Majespecter Fox from his Extra
Deck in Attack Position. He uses Majespecter Fox’s effect, adding one Majespecter Tornado
to his hand. Majespecter Fox attacks EndUser’s Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer, but EndUser uses Circle of the Fire
Kings in response, which destroys his Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer and Special Summons the Battlin’ Boxer Headgear
in his Graveyard. Black sets a card and uses the End Phase effect of Majespecter Cat,
adding a Majespecter Raccoon from his Deck to the hand.
With his card drawn, EndUser Normal Summons Ice Hand’s best
friend, which is commonly known as Fire Hand. He overlays his Fire Hand with
his Battlin’ Boxer Headgear to Xyz Summon Evilswarm Exciton Knight! But Black isn’t having any
of that and he counters with Majespecter Tempest, offering one Majespecter Fox as tribute
to negate the summon of Evilswarm Exciton Knight and destroy it. Seeing this coming,
EndUser continues his turn with Battlin’ Boxer Spirits, which revives Battlin’ Boxer Headgear
and mills the top card of his Deck. In this case, Battlin’ Boxer Glassjaw was
sent to the Graveyard by the effect. EndUser proceeds to overlay his Battlin’ Boxer Headgear with
Ice Hand to Xyz Summon yet another Evilswarm Exciton Knight. He smirked as he declared
the effect, which would destroy all of Black’s Spells and Traps. Black foresaw
this outcome and changed the future with a Fiendish Chain! Using it on the Evilswarm Exciton Knight, its effect is negated and it cannot attack, saving Black’s
backrow and one of his monsters from being the victim of its attack. EndUser
ends his turn.
Black initiates his turn by drawing his card. He Normal
Summons Majespecter Crow from his hand and uses its effect to add a
Majespecter Storm from his Deck to the hand. He then activates the Majespecter Storm and
uses his Majespecter Fox as a tribute to blow Evilswarm Exciton Knight back into the Extra Deck. With
his scales still active, he Pendulum Summons his Majespecter Raccoon and Majespecter Fox. With Majespecter Raccoon’s effect, he adds yet another Majespecter Fox from his Deck to the hand. He attacks
with all of his monsters, inflicting 5000 points of damage to EndUser (EndUser:
3000). He overlays his Majespecter Raccoon and Majespecter Cat to bring out the Totem Bird and ends his
turn.
EndUser draws, commencing his turn. He Normal Summons Ice
Hand, which Black responded with via Majespecter Tornado, banishing it by
tributing his Majespecter Fox. With no other moves, EndUser ends his turn.
Black begins his turn, bringing forth the onslaught of the
Pendulum mechanic by summoning Majespecter Fox and Majespecter Raccoon. With a field full of monsters
and his opponent’s field left wide open, he attacks his opponent and brings
forth a flawless victory.
Black Wins game two.
Black Wins game two.
Black wins against EndUser at a staggering 2-0, shutting
EndUser out at any possible victory. Black was always three steps ahead of his
opponent with his magical furries countering anything and everything the heated
boxers did. This not only sets a precedent of what’s to come in the tournament,
but it also shows the devastating power of the Majespecters. For those that
fight against him, they have to prepare for the show that follows.
