Forbidden Thoughts - Newly Unlimited

We have finally reached the point in my Forbidden Thoughts mini-series where I get to talk about the cards that have been removed from the forbidden list.  These are cards Konami has decided are no longer too strong to be played at three.

The first of these is Destiny Hero -  Malicious.  This card has been on the list since the infamous days of TeleDAD, one of the most famous Yu-Gi-Oh! formats of all time.  Now this card is at three, Emergency Teleport is at three, and Destiny Draw is at three,  there could be a resurgence in that type of deck.  At the very least players are hopeful.  I myself hope that the deck is successful because I want something less archetype focused to be at the top.

The Agent of Mystery - Earth is basically the reason I like this list.  Agents were a top deck while this was at three, with Plants and Dino-Rabbit.  Then this card was hit and Agents disappeared from the scene.  I'm an Agent player.  I'll admit it.  I love the deck.  With this card at three, I dream that Agents will have a resurgence and become top dog again.

Tsukuyomi is a card that was important and relevant in the Goat format.  Last format Konami put the card up to two and it had no impact on the format.  Now it is at three and I suspect that once again it will have no impact on the format.  Even in Goat format, the card was only played at two.

With Stratos being banned, A Hero Lives loses it's best target.  Now it can only search out regular HEROs who are not +1s on being summoned.  The same applies to E-Emergency Call.  Overall these cards are going be essential if HEROs are to recover from losing Stratos.

Black Whirlwind is a huge buff to Blackwings who have seen almost
no play competitively in a long time.  Now with three Whirlwind and three Kalut, Blackwings will have a chance at being seen competitively.  This combined with the new Master Key Beetle that Blackwings will be very adept at Summoning.  Master Key Beetle can create a lock with Safe Zone.

Hieratic Seal of Convocation will be a change to add consistency to Hieratic's, a deck that hasn't had much impact on this format.  I'm not sure how much power this will give the deck, especially with only one Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon.

Pot of Duality adds consistency to any deck you add it to, but at the cost of speed.  Personally I feel like there isn't much of a difference to this card being at three than it being at two.

Another blast form the past is Scapegoat which opens up the possibilities for a great many interesting new decks.  I'm not sure how this will affect the format but it will annoy me to no end when people play this.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.  I hope you enjoyed it and leave a comment with your own opinions.
